(AMES, Iowa) April 25, 2019—Anna Slivka, Winifred, Montana, has earned $1,000 toward her freshman year college costs from the Farm Kids for College Scholarship of National Farmers, Ames, Iowa. The scholarship program is for agricultural majors.
A senior at Winifred High School, Slivka intends to attend Montana State University to major in agricultural communications. “Anna’s communications skills are exemplary…” said Cheryl Udelhoven, Slivka’s Winifred High School business teacher and BPA adviser.
Slivka placed 15th in the nation at the 2016 Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in presentation management individuals, and she placed second in Ag Communications and first in Creed Speaking at the State FFA Convention. She then presented in Creed Speaking to a large audience at the National FFA Convention. She was Bronze Division Creed Speaker.
Raised on a small farm and ranch in central Montana, Slivka has been directly involved in production agriculture and 4-H, as well as FFA. She has served as treasurer, secretary, vice president and president of her FFA chapter, treasurer and secretary of student council and serves as the Class of 2019 President at Winifred High School.
Slivka was the Judith Basin County Star Greenhand, Montana FFA’s Most Inspirational Overall Winner, Most Inspirational Essay Winner and Most Inspirational Member. She also placed in FFA Career Development Event competitions, was fourth place in her district for agronomy and on the first place district agronomy team, was on the third place district livestock team and earned many other FFA awards. She also participated in band and choir, earning superior and excellent ratings in a variety of categories, individual and group.
